Annual eye exams are vital to maintaining your vision and overall health. We offer the Optos® Retinal Scan as an important part of our eye exams.
The scan produces an image of the inside of your own eye that is as unique as your fingerprint. Optos® Retinal Scan offers the eye doctors a much wider view of the health of your retina. Rather than a typical exam which can view about 30 degree view of the retina, Optos® Retinal Scan offers a 200 degree view.
Many eye problems can develop without your knowledge. But, concerns like macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears or detachments, diabetic retinal bleeding, and high blood pressure can be seen with a thorough exam of the retina.
The Optos® Retinal Scan is fast, easy, and comfortable for all ages— no puffs of air! To have the exam, you simply look into the device, one eye at a time, and you will see a ring of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken. The image is shown immediately on a computer screen— very cool to see the inside of your own eye!
